The Dolores River Canyon is a magnificent place, rich in history and culture, and we must protect it.

Hispanics use a special word for love of the land: “querencia.” This is deeply rooted in the Hispanic culture of the Southwest and is ingrained in Hispanos like Max Trujillo, a hunter and conservationist of New Mexico.  “The wealth and the richness that public lands gave me made me profoundly love the places even more. The Dolores River Canyon is a magnificent place. The biodiversity that exists in these canyons is amazing. The history, the culture, everything lends itself to a place we must protect,” says Trujillo.
