Op-Ed: It’s Time To Protect the Great Bend of the Gila Permanently

Representative Raúl M. Grijalva introduced a bill to designate the Great Bend of the Gila as a national monument to protect 376,963 acres of public lands and preserve one of the most culturally significant and ecologically fragile landscapes in the southwestern United States. Community members and leaders have long advocated for this designation and have welcomed the news about the Great Bend of the Gila National Monument Establishment Act.
