Hclc Henry Muñoz: “ This Mine Is Not for Us. It’s for Profit, and That Profit Is Going to China”
“I was really upset that the Forest Service would release the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) while a major court case is still pending. The Apache people deserve to have their voices heard. This action overlooks Indigenous and community perspectives and the environmental destruction that this mine will cause. This mine is not for us. It’s for profit, and that profit is going to China,’ said Henry Muñoz, a retired miner and member of the Hispanic Conservation Leadership Council at HECHO, in response to the official announcement about the agency’s plan to publish the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed Resolution Copper mine.
