Blog: Happy 4th of July! Celebrating our traditions and public lands

We hope everyone had a safe 4th of July and spent some time outdoors with family and friends. Independence Day is a time to reflect on our freedom and outdoor traditions. We are lucky to have vast public lands that belong to every American, and we are proud to protect these lands for future generations.

Some of us at HECHO wanted to share how we spent our 4th of July:

-          Mountain biking (early… 5:30am because of the hot weather) and then later in the day BBQ burgers and fajitas with family.

-          Hanging out with the dog, BBQ elk loin wrapped in bacon with margaritas, and watching fireworks from home.

-          Since the temperatures have been between 109-115 degrees in our area, people are spending time at the river-- boating and swimming.

How did you spend the 4th of July?
