Designation of the Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni–Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument

On August 8, 2023, President Joe Biden designated the Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni – Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument, protecting nearly one million acres of public lands surrounding this awe-inspiring natural wonder. Hispanics Enjoying, Camping Hunting, and the Outdoors (HECHO) has advocated for permanently protecting these lands from uranium mining for years.
