Explore Our National Parks on Entrance-Free Days in 2024
Is there a national park that you love and like to visit often? Or do you want to explore new ones?
More than 400 parks are available for everyone, and on six days in 2024, the National Park Service will waive entrance fees for parks that usually charge admission.
The entrance–free dates in 2024 are:
January 15: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
April 20: First day of National Park Week
June 19: Juneteenth National Independence Day
August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
September 28: National Public Lands Day
November 11: Veterans Day
Mark your calendar and take advantage of these entrance-free days to visit and experience the wonder of these extraordinary places across the country.
The National Park Service also wants the public to remember that only 110 of the 424 NPS sites charge a fee. So before visiting one, always check out if they charge an admission!
If you plan to visit more than one national park this year, consider purchasing the annual America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for $80, which allows unlimited entrance to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas. There are also free or discounted passes available for senior citizens, current military members, and disabled citizens.
