Hosted and moderated by Camilla Simon, HECHO's Executive Director, the third in our four-part Climate Solutions in Action series will focus on agricultural and community stewardship practices that help mitigate and adapt to climate change. Our panelists will discuss the carbon sequestration potential of healthy soils and the vital role farmers and ranchers can play in mitigating climate change. We will also learn how community stewardship, culture, preservation of generations-old traditional land-use practices, and conservation intertwine through New Mexico’s traditional acequia and land grant communities.
Panelists:
Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján, United States House of Representatives
Kenny Salazar, Santa Cruz Irrigation District
Brent Van Dyke, Past National President of the National Association of Conservation Districts
